One of these things is not like the other...
Is that RV parking on the right?

Still dreaming the day I can have a house with a garage tall enough I can put a lift inside.
PS: Kinja’d, that GIF covers the reply button on mobile.

Think how many cars could be fit in there, especially with a lift installed.

Amusing faux craftsman “architecture” and an attached RV garage, how I love you PNW.

That thing better have a fireman’s pole from the over-garage space down. Otherwise it’s just not complete.

Okay, but... IF THEY AREN’T BARN DOORS, DON’T MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE IT.
That’s seriously a deal breaker for me. I will never live in a neighborhood that makes all the houses do that. (And there are a few like that around here)
If my garage is going to have door handles and hinges on it, then I’d better be able to pull those handles and swing the door out along those hinges. Otherwise, it needs to just look like a normal overhead garage door.

I mean assuming I’m not trying to shove full size pickups or SUVs in I bet you could get two cars and a third with a lift in that RV slot. Or 1 car + 1 on lift and space to keep misc. garage stuff like bikes out of the other bays. That would make my life so happy :)

Realistically, you could probably do 4 cars if you really want to, but yeah. I’d probably do one, maybe two with a lift, and then some shop toys in the back.

4 with two lifts I guess but that seemed to be getting silly.

This is just depressing....Buy the time I can afford something like that, I’ll be too old to work on my toys.

It would look so much better if builders were allowed to cover an entire house in one type of siding. Two-tone cars, not houses.

I don’t know why they — or many other builders — do this. I am also not a fan of fake shudders...

You wouldn’t want this plan anyway — I don’t think you need the 4 bedrooms and office this house has. I just like the idea of a big garage!

People eat this stuff up. I always have to remind myself that no one is building a house for me.

True. The average home purchaser has very little taste. One must only look to the community of First Addition in Lake Oswego, Oregon. There is no historical preservation society, so rich folk with zip code envy buy up all of the gorgeous 100+ year old craftsman-built houses on tiny lots for $1M. Then they rip down the house and build a hideous, towering McMansion right up to the edges of the property line. It’s sickening.

Where is this (not the exact address, state will do) and how much is it? This looks like the perfect dream home for me!

While the 4 bay garage is cool, I can’t say I’m a fan of the design. Maybe it looks “better”, but I’d much rather one big ass garage door. And what’s with the garage on the end? Is there a reason it’s larger than all the others? Boat/RV storage?
